WELCOME TO THE HAGUE

Welcome to the 1st International Conference on Indonesian Development (ICID).

The conference will be held on 12-14 September, 2013 at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University, The Hague, the Netherlands. The institute is one of the world’s leading centers in development studies. This conference is hosted by the Indonesian Student Association in the Netherlands in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy at The Hague.

The conference will be a premier forum for young scholars and researchers of different disciplines who have interest in Indonesia development studies to share research findings and discuss contemporary topics on knowledge-based economic development.

We invite submissions of abstracts for oral and poster presentations on all areas of economic development including any topics in macro and micro economics as well as social sciences and public policy. We also invite organizations to submit proposals for special sessions relevant to the conference theme.

Recognized as a city of peace and justice, The Hague is the government-city of the Netherlands and the home of embassies. The Hague is also known to the world as the host of some international events such as the Humanitarian Convention and the historical Roem-Royen Peace Agreement between Indonesia and the Netherlands. The Hague has been long wellknown as ‘the residence city’ because many members of the Dutch Royal Family reside in its chic neighborhoods. Your visit will be a memorable one.

Best Regards,

The Organizing Committee
